2011 INCMA Special Event: “TWA Flight 800: A Case Study for Major Accident Investigations” Briefing and Tour, Friday May 20, 2011

Please join the InfraGard Nations Capital Members Alliance (INCMA) for the first of our 2011 INCMA Special Events.

When we first did the TWA Flight 800 briefing and tour last November, it sold out and we are doing it again this year by popular demand.

INCMA, in partnership with the National Transportation Safety Board (NSTB) Training Center, is excited to again offer a briefing on – and a tour of – the reconstructed TWA Flight 800 wreckage on Friday May 20, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon (registration and coffee begin at 8:00 a.m.) All attendees need to arrive by 8:45 a.m. to insure a timely and prompt start.

The address is 45065 Riverside Parkway, Ashburn, Virginia 20147. Driving directions can be found at http://www.ntsb.gov/TC/facilityloc.htm#directions. The NTSB Training Center is a large, red-brick complex of two attached buildings.

There is a $20 fee to attend the event which includes coffee and doughnuts.

THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO BOTH INFRAGARD MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS

TWA Flight 800, a Boeing 747, exploded and crashed in the Atlantic Ocean off Long Island shortly after take-off from JFK Airport en route to Paris on July 17, 1996 killing all 230 people on board. It was widely speculated that the plane was brought down by a missile. However, the NTSB later determined that the explosion was most likely due to a spark that ignited the fuel tank. The reconstructed plane is now housed at the National Transportation Safety Board Training Center in Ashburn, Virginia

Don't miss this interesting opportunity to see a piece of aviation history!
